Preventative Care
Investing in preventative care is crucial to the wellness of our community and will help alleviate financial stress for many of our neighbors who are being taken advantage of by big pharmaceutical companies, insurance agencies, and high hospital costs. We can help decrease these costs and eliminate barriers by focusing on preventative care at the Statehouse. For example, we must reduce prescription drug costs, set maximum prices for life-saving medications, and minimize administrative barriers to coverage. Simultaneously, we must expand Medicaid and Medicare coverage, minimize medical debt, and invest resources into expanding the mental health workforce. Meanwhile, enacting common-sense gun legislation will prevent accidental misfires, suicides by firearm, and domestic violence exacerbated by firearms. Finally, we must ensure Ohioans have access to affordable preventative care, from vaccines, annual check-ups, and telehealth to therapy, harm reduction services, and medication-assisted treatment.
