Childcare

Growing up, my mom could not afford childcare. Luckily, she had a job where she could bring me to work when she needed support. On the days she couldn’t, my neighbor, whom we grew to call “Granny”, babysat. Today, childcare is unaffordable for young families, impacting their ability to work. When an economy requires two parents to work full-time to maintain a livable wage while pricing them out of sufficient childcare, that socio-economic system is failing. Our working families deserve affordable childcare.
